As Rajesh remembers:

Growing up in India as a kid, cricket is everywhere. It was like that I got introduced to cricket. The craze for Sachin Tendulkar was mesmerizing. Cricket’s bug bit me too. Tendulkar, in a way, inspired me to play the sports. I started playing local competitions in 2002. My first deuce (leather) ball match was in 2004.

In 2009, I came to Nepal. Coach Manjur Alam sir helped me to settle down here in Lalitpur. Gradually, I started to impress in age group. Soon, I found myself playing for Lalitpur U-19s. I was selected for the Province 3 (Bagmati). After putting up some consistent scores for province, I was called up for national camp. I did well in the camp as well and went on to play in the ACC U-19 Elite Cup by 2011.

Many seniors and coaches has helped me on my way to play for Nepal. Similarly, Mark Alleyne, our coach at London during our MCC program, helped me a lot for 45 days. His blessings and dissertations on specifics of batting still motivates me.
