Sri Lanka international Seekkuge Prasanna is set to feature for Chitwan Tigers in the upcoming season of Everest Premier League. The acquisition of dynamically skilled 36-year-old added with his years of experience at top flight is set to lift up the Tigers dressing room. Prasanna’s primarily role is to run through the opposition’s batting lineup with his accurate depiction of leg-spin bowling. However, he has a penchant of finishing strong with the bat also. He has scored 138 sixes and 107 fours in 170 T20 matches so far with a scintillating strike-rate of almost 160. Similarly, his economy-rate of around 7 runs per over with 135 wickets exemplifies his solid hold in this format of the game. For a long time, Prasanna was among Sri Lanka’s spin options in limited-overs internationals. He is quick through the air, and possesses a good googly. Prasanna has a wealth of experience featuring in foreign T20 leagues, playing in the Bangladesh Premier League and for English county sides, predominantly in the T20 Blast. Adding on the list with Pakistan Super League and Caribbean Premier League appearances. He took 3 for 32 in his international debut against Australia and has represented Sri Lanka in all three formats, Test, ODI and T20Is. His 95 runs in 46 deliveries which included five boundaries and nine sixes against Ireland in 2016 threatened to broke Sanath Jaysuriya’s fastest ODI century record for Sri Lanka. He still amassed a 23-ball half-century which stands fifth fastest for his nation. The International Cricket Council (ICC) sanctioned EPL 2021 is all set to take place from September 25th to October 09th. The Malaysian international is a middle-order batsman who can keep wickets as well as bowl handy left-arm spin if situation demands. The 22-year-old is touted as one of the future stars of Associate cricket after coming up gradually from age levels. The Malaysia vice-captain made his T20I debut against Thailand, on 24 June 2019. A familiar name among Nepali fans, he entertained the mass here with his exciting 87 runs off 53 deliveries against the Netherlands in the recently concluded Tri-Nation T20 Series held in Nepal 2021. “A proud day for Malaysian Cricket.
