The Irish juggernaut entertained the masses and quickly became one of the most popular overseas player in Nepal for his big-hitting in the power-plays. Stirling’s 55 runs against Pokhara Rhinos in a seven wicket win was the highlight of his campaign with Tigers. He scored a total of 157 runs in six matches which included eight sixes and a strike-rate of 135. His recently missed a T20I century by five runs last January. However, a stroke-filled 95 runs against West Indies was only a glimpse of capabilities Stirling has to demolish opposition attacks. Tigers expect no less from the rocket pocket. Paul Stirling has long been recognized as a formidable cricketing talent. He announced his arrival at world stage with two ODI centuries against Pakistan before the age of 23. With a natural swagger and belligerence allied to a portly build, Stirling had evoked comparisons as Virender Sehwag of Associate Cricket during Ireland’s early career. He can generate huge power with seemingly little effort. Stirling is also a highly competent back-up off-spinner. Born in Belfast, Stirling made his ODI debut at the age of just 17. He played for Ireland in the World Twenty20 in England in 2009. NEWS AND UPDATES
