Kathmandu: Chitwan Tigers squad was boosted by the arrival of its overseas players on Wednesday. Afghanistan’s Mohammad Shahzad, Karim Janat, Malaysia’s Virandeep Singh arrived Nepal and joined the squad on Wednesday whereas Seekkuge Prasanna arrived on Tuesday. Shahzad is excited to test himself in a competitive league before the ICC World T20. “This could be an ideal opportunity to test our T20 skills in competitive tournament before the T20 world cup,” stated Shahzad. The wicket-keeper batter and all-rounder Janat were recently named in Afghanistan squad for World T20 to be held in the UAE. The fourth edition of Everest Premier League is set to start on September 25. Tigers will play its first match on September 26 against Biratnagar Warriors. The final will be played on October 9. Tigers include the likes of vice-captain Dilip Nath, Shahab Alam, Sagar Dhakal, Bhim Sharki, etc in their ranks led by Sompal Kami. Tigers reached playoffs in the EPL 2018. Likewise, former Delhi cricketer Puru Singh, veteran Nepal coach Samson Jung Thapa, Purnendu Ghosh and physio Saugat Shrestha completes the coaching team for the event.
